Central to all Colmcille’s work is the promotion of the Gaelic languages. Courses are the most direct way to make this happen “on the ground”. All Colmcille events feature free classes and workshops enabling people to learn or improve the language of the other land for increased understanding and awareness. In addition, there is research and development planned for open-learning courses for those fluent in one Gaelic language already and for new learners. It is hoped to publish such courses through the Internet and, eventually on CD-rom.
