Armagh Pipers Club & Fèis an Earraich
The Armagh Pipers Club trains young musicians from south Ulster in centres in Armagh and Monaghan. Fèis an Earraich has a similar role in the Isle of Skye. With both organisations having a strong interest in the Gaelic language, Colmcille facilitated a partnership between the two organisations which has been growing since 2000.
Every other year a group of twenty or more young people travelled from Armagh to Fèis an Earraich in April in Skye. The following year a similar group from Fèis an Earraich has come to Armagh, often for the William Kennedy International Piping Festival. Gaelic song has become part of the training for all young musicians in the Armagh Pipers Club, and part of their repertoire. The funding Colmcille has provided, has drawn an immense amount of voluntary work and fund raising from parents club members and teachers.
